The year is now. Mutants have just been recently exposed to the public. Viewed to be dangerous and out of control- they have been met with hostility and fear.
The Chitauri invasion of New York City, and the international incidents caused by conflicts with Ultron have also highlighted the danger that comes with The Avengers not having a set of rules and regulations.
The American government, in response to this, has raised the debate on introducing the Registration Act. A law which would not only apply to mutants but to all superhumans in the United States.
In line with this, the Sentinels program, a growing anti-mutant/superhuman resistance movement has been launched- causing the death of mutants across the world.
In a time where superhumans and mutants should unite- fingers are pointed and blames are pinned. The battle lines are being drawn and Earth's mightiest heroes and Xavier's first class find themselves in the middle of an inevitable clash.
Xtinction is a canon only site that takes inspiration from the cinematic and comic verses of the Marvel Universe. The site adapts the Avengers vs. X-Men comic series and integrates it with features from the Marvel movies.
