Character Details

♦ APPEARANCE: The most striking part of Arietta is her brilliant red hair and golden orange eyes to match. Her hair reaches just below the lower part of her back, and is generally kept down. Her bangs cover most of her forehead accept the part where her hair parts into two. She also braids parts of her hair along the side, then pulls it back into a short ponytail behind her head.

Arietta is at a relatively good height, standing 5 feet 6 inches. She has a thin frame, but makes up for it in her speed. Her daily outfit varies, but her soldier outfit is almost all white except for red trim. Her shirt covers her stomach, chest, and part of her neck. It cuts off at the shoulders, but then she wears arm length gloves with cut out finger holes to make up for that. The shirt and the gloves are connected by a red ribbon at her shoulders. For easy movement, she wears a red skirt that reaches mid thigh. Around her waist is a simple white cloth that is tied to the sheath at her left side. In addition, she generally wears a second "skirt" that extends to mid calf and is open in the front. This can be removed for a less traditional look. On her legs she wears white and red stockings with a crest of her family on it, then white ankle boots that are meant for speed and traction.

♦ PERSONALITY: Arietta is, overall, a positive and hard-working individual. She always tries to keep herself busy with stuff to do, never taking a second to sit down and just enjoy what little beautify life has to offer. Despite the war, Arietta believes that people can change. She always gives others a second chance, or tries to learn from their mistakes. She doesn't think anyone has a right to take a life, and revenge will solve nothing. However, Arietta will protect those she love fiercely, and will put herself in danger to do so.

Mercy is something she will give, and which can be taken advantage of. Arietta generally trusts everyone besides those who kill for no cause. She does not strive for power, or for money, but simply for what she believes is right. This can make having to make difficult choices very hard for her. She does not want harm to come to anyone, but understand the idea that sacrificing a few can save a million. Actually carrying out that idea, however, may be crushing for her. Especially if it came to family and friends. Coming from somewhere where family and tradition is highly regarded, Arietta loves passionately, and desires a family of her own one day.

♦ CHIMAERA: Arietta was chosen to join the ranks of the army. However, since she lacked the ability to actually kill anyone, she was given the order to be a scout. Arietta is extremely fast on her feet, and was taught to wield a traditional rapier. They spliced her with a female Pyroar, which is known to be a fast, yet still powerful, pokemon. Although they considered splicing her with Talonflame, they felt they needed someone on the ground and in the air. Since the already had a Pidgeot scout, Pyroar was chosen for her. Many pokemon were too small to travel over long distances, such as Jolteon, but they felt stealth was still an important factor. The scientist came to this idea after someone asked the name of her rapier, Pyroar no Tsume. Arietta has come to find that Pyroar is a perfect fit for her.

History

Arietta was born as an only child in a traditional lifestyle family. Her parents both owned a local dinner, and although small, it is decently popular in the area. They serve traditional Japanese style food, and have a very oriental style. Sometimes Arietta struggled with her family, since she grew up in a more modern age. She went to public school after arguing with her parents, who wanted her to home school her. Her parents finally came to the conclusion that they wanted Arietta to be happy, and that they shouldn't try and force their lifestyle on her. Arietta, in return, tried her best to keep both traditional and modern values to heart.

When Arietta turned 10, her father began training her in the art of sword fights. Her mother disapproved since most women did not learn fighting in her time, but she let her husband teach. They used wooden sticks for awhile, then tried different styles of swords to see what she clicked with. Arietta eventually found that the rapier was just her style. When Arietta turned 18, her father had a skilled blacksmith forge her a beautiful rapier that was just right for her. Arietta decided to name the rapier Pyroar no Tsume (or Tsume for short), meaning Pyroar's Claw. It was the name of her sword that had given the scientist who spliced her the idea.

After being spliced with Pyroar, Arietta soon found the joys of being a pokemon, even if she was being used for battle. Since she was a scout, Arietta would spend most of the day racing back and forth as Pyroar. Since she couldn't shift more than once a day, they had a Chatot Chamaera translate from pokemon to English for her superiors. At first Arietta was exhausted after spending hours upon hours running, but eventually she built up the endurance. After the war, Arietta found herself running almost everyday. It has now became a part of her, just as being Pyroar is a part of her.

Before I can accept your profile, there are some things we need to fix. If you have any questions or need any assistance, please contact me. I know this seems like a lot, but that's only because I include a lot of details.

[1] To begin, the three icons below your character's name must be 100 x 100 pixels.

[2] You talk about Japan in your history. This forum takes place in another realm entirely, so Japan technically doesn't exist here. Instead, describe specifically what the food was. Did they serve uncooked fish over rice? Did they serve stir-fried noodles and veggies?

[3] Next is your history... At the beginning, you talk about "traditional lifestyle family" and "sometimes Arietta struggled with her family, since she grew up in a more modern age", I wasn't sure what you meant by this? Terms like that can be taken many different ways. Explain how her family was different from most families.

While reading through your history and chimaera sections, I got this strong feeling that your character belongs in Azure or Crimson. You chose Emerald for her home city, but the history doesn't really reflect that choice. For one thing, you talk about her becoming a scout in the army, which is perfectly fine; however, Emerald does not have an army, they have warriors who must excel at various arts to be accepted into the ranks. Another thing to consider is her being chosen to be a chimaera. If she was a member of the Azure or Crimson army, then it would make perfect sense for her superiors to approach her and say "you're a great scout, bla bla, chimaera, bla bla, honor to your people". If she was of Emerald, she would have been kidnapped and forced to become a chimaera.

Another thing to consider is that the actual battle with the chimaeras lasted three days and then it ended. So, she would have only scouted for three days as an actual pyroar chimaera.

In your history, you also forgot to talk about the after math. After the battle, what happened to her? Did she go back to her family? If she did, they would have to keep her hidden because she would be a wanted war fugitive. Did she decide to run off and hide somewhere? Does she want to join Nero's army or is she more on side with the humans?
